I felt like eating some banana bread this morning, so I whipped up a Banana Nut Bread Smoothie instead. Lucky for me I had all the ingredients necessary. I had to add some banana extract because I just wasn't getting the 'full banana' flavor with just the sliced banana & besides, I really love the flavor of bananas. You could use Torani Banana Syrup, instead of the banana extract, if you happened to have any of that stuff hanging around the kitchen. Enjoy!
Banana Nut Bread Smoothie
serves 1
1 cup fat free milk
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 really ripe sliced banana, frozen
1 tsp favorite nut butter
3/4 tsp banana extract**
4 packets Equal, or you favorite sweetener
6 ice cubes
~ put all ingredients in blender & blend until smooth & frosty
** if you are lucky enough to have some Torani Banana Syrup, you can delete the 3/4 tsp banana extract & 3 packets of Equal ~ THEN ~ replace it with 3 tblsp of the Banana Syrup
